Is there a book that can teach me how to fix problems with my PC?

I bought (55,000 games)and I can' t download it. The game was not design for Windows XP, therefore I need to find the executable file for the game, the actual EXE that is launched to run the game. It says so in the info that I found, and I'm clueless because when I put the disk in nothing happened. So how the heck I'm going to find the folder in which I installed the game. I also bought Brain Teaser and have no problem whatsoever with it, it runs fine no problems there. I"ll appreciate all the help that you can give me. Thanks!!!
