Yes, another sleep question. insights, please!?

my daughter is 8 months old. she sleeps in a portable crib next to our bed until she wakes up around 12:30 for a bottle; after she eats, she falls right back to sleep, and i just keep her in bed with us. before i go any further, please respect that we are not willing to do any crying it out, so the sleeping arrangements are set for now. i have 2 questions about her sleeping habits. first, she wakes up usually 3 times in the first 3 hours she is asleep (7 pm-10pm). all she wants is her pacifier replaced and a quick back rub, and she is right back to sleep. did your baby do this? for how long? second question: this week, she has woken up completely at 10:30 pm SCREAMING. she is not hungry, wet, or sick. i am able to calm her down as long as i take her out. she sits with me for fifteen minutes or so, resting her head on my chest, and then i am able to rock her back to sleep. anyone know what that is all about? i appreciate any experience and insight you can offer on the two. thanks!!!
