Does it seem like he likes me?

Sadies dance is coming up and my friends convinced to ask the guy I really like. I wrote a note asking if he wanted to go with me and had my friend give it to him. She watched him open it and she said his ears turned red and he started smiling, then he turned around, said thanks and smiled. After she told me that, I was really thinking 'Wow there's finally someone who likes me back!' I have one cl with him and he hadn't given me the note back or said anything so the next day my friend asked if he gave an answer. He said he has something to do that weekend. So she asked if he would've gone with me if he wasn't busy and he said he was still thinking about it. I'm kind of okay if he really did have something to do and wasn't just making an excuse, but I really want to know the answer to the second question! From what my friend said about the day she gave him the note, it sounded like he did, but now I'm not sure. I wonder if he's even going to answer me! It's been almost 4 days and I haven't gotten an answer, and I know he's probably scared but I was/am too, which is why I wrote a note! Help meee!
